Hundreds more affected by decision to end reciprocal agreement than first thought
Corbin School District officials are now saying the number of students affected by a recent decision by the Knox County Board of Education to end a long-standing non-resident reciprocal agreement is hundreds more than first thought.
Below is the full text of a press release distributed by the school district Monday:
Corbin Independent School Superintendent Ed McNeel reports a clarification is being made on the number of students attending Corbin schools and living within the school boundaries of Knox County. He explains that the school district in the spring of 2009 converted the student management data to the new state Infinite Campus system and many addresses were missing or in error. A close review of the student information was conducted by Corbin staff to determine that instead of the 169 originally reported, there are 406 students currently living in the Knox County school district and attending Corbin schools. Parents of the students will be sent a letter to verify the address on file is correct. Superintendent McNeel has notified Superintendent Walter T. Hulett, Knox County Schools, about the revised number of students.

I am very glad this is happening, You people just dont understand why or are just stupid its not Knox Co. schools fault that the students are not learning well its the fact that all moneys go to either Corbin Schools or they go to Knox Centeral, you people have to understand it takes money for these schools to succeed MONEY is the name of the game and you people need to just either move or pay up, let me ask ya’ll do you believe in the census well if you do, to make a school better you have to know where ya’ll live and if your not telling the truth then not enough money gets funded to make West Knox and Lynn Camp better so like I said MOVE or just get over it……and pay whats DUE!!!!!!
this does not suprise me. i always knew there was way more than 150 or whatever.
This is unbelievable. Now the Knox co. schools system can ruin many more lives than they ever thought they could. Pity the poor students.
