Huff, Bledsoe named May Day Queen, Tiny Queen
Haley Huff, the 16-year-old daughter of Rex and Shari Huff, will be crowned the 2010 May Day Queen during the Ossoli Club of Corbin’s 67th annual May Day Festival on Friday.
Kaylin Bledsoe, the five-year-old daughter of Melissa and Steve Bledsoe, will be this year’s Tiny Queen.
Voting ended Friday and the following young ladies will make up the Queen’s court: first runner-up, Hannah Durham; second runner-up, Hailee Lewis; third runner-up, Jordan Jones; fourth runner-up, Erika Grisell; fifth runner-up, Nikkie Freeman; sixth runner-up, Dakota Dean; and attendants, Bailee Freeman, Sydney Freeman, Allison Horn, Shelby Phillips, Alexandria Smith and Alison Warner.
In the Tiny Queen’s race, first runner-up was Brooke Elliott; second runner-up, Emma Krutsinger; and third runner-up, Kaila Stidham. Tiny Queen flowergirls will be Grace Gibson, Charley Beth Harris, Lacey Martin and Trinity Terrell.
The Ossoli Club of Corbin’s 67th annual May Day Festival will take place on Friday, May 7, at the Corbin High School gymnasium beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Festival involves local children from pre-school through high school in fund raising, community involvement, and creative performance. The theme for this year’s program is “Our Small World.”
Half the May Day proceeds each year go directly to the classrooms and groups that participate in the May Day program. The other half is used for community improvement projects year-round.
