HS Baseball/Softball Update for Tues, April 11
The following are scores and updates from Tuesday night high school baseball and softball games…
The game between the Corbin Redhounds (9-3) and the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets (4-5) was postponed after five innings due to weather. The Hounds were up 6-0 when play was suspended, and the game is scheduled to resume Wednesday at 5:30 pm at Corbin High School.
Meanwhile, the Whitley County Colonels (5-8) were able to complete their game against South Laurel (6-5) in London, falling by the final score of 5-4. The Colonels have now lost their last four games, and will try to get back on track this Friday evening at Harlan.
In softball action, the Whitley County Lady Colonels (3-6) also traveled to South Laurel Tuesday, falling 15-5 to the Lady Cardinals (3-6) in five innings. Whitley will face another 50th District opponent Thursday evening when they make the short trip across town to square off against Williamsburg at Briar Creek Park.
Finally, the Corbin Lady Hounds (7-1) were up 6-3 on visiting Wayne County after four innings when weather forced their game to be called early. Corbin is scheduled to host South Laurel Thursday in another important 50th District contest.
