High School Football Roundup: Week 2
Week 2 of the 2022 high school football season is in the books, and two area teams remain undefeated.
The Corbin Redhounds moved to 2-0 on the season with a 42-13 win over visiting Whitley County in this year’s Grace Health Bowl. They will look to keep their win streak alive next week when they travel to play Franklin County.
Meanwhile, the Colonels will be hoping to pick up their first win of the season next week when they return home to host the Harlan County Black Bears.
In other high school football action from week 2, the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets managed to improve to 2-0 with another one-point victory. Last week the Jackets were victorious over Oneida, TN by the final score of 28-27, and on Friday they defeated visiting Middlesboro, 22-21.
Williamsburg will be back at home next week, hosting the Leslie County Eagles in a game that was originally scheduled to be contested in Hyden. Kickoff is still set for 7:30 p.m.
Finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats could not capitalize on the positive momentum from last week’s win at Jellico, TN as they fell to the Frankfort Panthers, 52-0. The Cats will go on the road in week 3 to face the Clay County Tigers.
