Herman Wilhoit
Herman Wilhoit, 88, of Holder Hobbs Road, Williamsburg departed this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born on February 1, 1930 in Packard, to the late Andrew Wilhoit and Summer (Hamil) Wilhoit.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Lawson) Wilhoit; sons, Kenneth Lawson and Charles Lawson; grandson, Darren Owens; brothers, Gaylor Wilhoit, Hobert Wilhoit and Raymond Wilhoit and sisters, Hattie Smithwick, Barbara Moses and Nola Goley.
He is survived by his children, Gary Lawson (Angie), Gail Owens (Terry) and Phyllis Lawson of Williamsburg and Henry Holt (Christina) of Maryville, TN; eight grandchildren, Jordan Holt, Joshua Holt, Wayne Lawson, Joseph Lawson, Chris Hale, Charles Lawson, Donnie Doan and Brittany Silcox; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Wilhoit of Williamsburg and Cecil Wilhoit of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 25, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lowell Huddleston officiating.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Lawson-Owens-Wilhoit Cemetery on Burke Hollow Road, Williamsburg.
