Harrison discusses alcohol petition
Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison, who is spearheading an effort to allow packaged alcohol sales in Williamsburg and sales of alcohol by the drink at smaller restaurants, doesn’t want to see a bar on every corner or Williamsburg turn into the wild west.
For him, it’s not even about being able to go around the corner to his local convenient store to buy a six-pack of beer.
Harrison told the Williamsburg Kiwanis Club during its monthly meeting Thursday that for him the effort is about helping the town progress, showing that Williamsburg is a progressive community and trying to bring in some additional business to town.
