Harrison appointed to Ky. 911 Services Board

Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison to the Kentucky 911 Services Board.

Bevin made Harrison’s appointment to the 911 Services Board Friday afternoon along the appointment of three other people: Daniel L. Bell, Robert J. Leeper and Timothy M. Vaughan.

Harrison and Bell represent city officials on the board while Leeper and Vaughan will represent county officials. The terms of all four men will expire on Aug. 15, 2020.

The 911 Services Board is made up of 15 members, 11 of which are gubernatorial appointees.

The board is charged with reviewing, evaluating, developing standards and deciding on plans of modifications to the E911 service requirements established by the Federal Communications Commission. The board is also responsible for collecting and regulating service charges for commercial mobile radio connections.
