Harold Clifford Faulkner

Harold Clifford Faulkner, 89, of Williamsburg,  passed away peacefully at his home on October 4, 2016.

Harold was born July 28, 1927, in Whitley County. He graduated from Woodbine High School, where he met his future bride and lifelong love, Wilma McKeehan.

For much of his life, Harold worked and partnered in Faulkner & Taylor Furniture Store, except for ten years when he opened and managed the Williamsburg Travel Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking as well, often blessing family and friends with masterful creations – frames, decorations, toy trains. He could create and build anything and he often did.

His greatest joy was being with people, especially his family – traveling with his wife and daughters, playing tennis and fishing with his sons-in-law, playing with his precious grandchildren, playing golf with anyone who was willing, and spending time with his friends in his men’s Bible class. He had a knack for putting people at ease with his sense of humor and his eyes always sparkled with mischief and kindness both.

A man of deep faith and limitless kindness, Harold was generous of spirit to everyone he encountered. He would lend an ear, lend a hand, and attempt to enrich everyone’s world by leaving them with a smile. He enjoyed life; he was well loved, and he will be greatly missed. While we mourn his passing, we are comforted to know that Heaven has gained a wonderful soul and a good and faithful servant.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Dorothy (Smith) Faulkner, and brother and sister-in-law Clyde and Bobbie Faulkner.

Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Wilma (McKeehan) Faulkner; his adoring children, Linda (Bryan) Shelby and Debra (Johnny) Jeffries; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Randall) Davenport, John (Kim) Jeffries, Melissa Jeffries, Aaron Jeffries, and Steven Jeffries; two brothers Vernon (Dot) Faulkner and J. Donald (Cathy) Faulkner, four great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday October 7, at the First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, with Rev. Ande Myers officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the Davis Addition of the Highland Park Cemetery.

The First Baptist Church Men’s Bible class served as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Bereavement Committee.
