Glenn Fields
Glenn Fields, 86, of Corbin, passed away June 29, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father Johnathan Fields and mother Odie Shepherd of Hyden; brother Everett Spurlock of Corbin, and sisters Geneva Farris of Dayton, OH and Bonnie Napier of Hyden.
Glenn was a devout Christian and attended Lily Church of Christ for 45 years. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, however, his greatest pleasure was being a Dad and Papaw to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Fields of Corbin, one daughter Glenda Proffitt and husband Kenneth of Corbin, and a son Michael Fields and wife Becky of Kingsport, TN; two grandsons: Kenneth Proffitt, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Corbin and Owen Fields of Kingsport; two great granddaughters Aubree and Melia Proffitt of Corbin; a brother Alton Spurlock and wife Bernice of Corbin; two sisters: Kathy Shepherd and husband Alvin and Rhonda Watson and husband Darrell, both of Corbin; and a sister-in-law Shirley Spurlock of London.
The funeral service was held Sunday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bros. Billy Burke and Bennie Bush officiating.
Burial followed at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Darrell Watson, Alvin Shepherd, Wayne Spurlock, Josh Spurlock, Kenneth Proffitt, and Ken Proffitt, Jr.
