After honoring their senior players on Senior Night, the Whitley County Colonels moved their 2014 record to 3-5 with a 31-22 win over district opponent Perry County Central Friday. Next week the Colonels will be on the road at Harlan County (1-6) for another district matchup.
On the other side of town, the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets also kicked off district play when they hosted Campbellsville. The Eagles never stood a chance, as the Jackets jumped out to a large lead in the first quarter on their way to a 49-13 victory to keep them undefeated so far in 2014.
And finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats hoped to make it two wins in a row this week when they hosted Berea in district action. Unfortunately, the Pirates would prevail, winning 36-20. With the loss, Lynn Camp falls to 2-5 on the season.
