Friday night Highlights
The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets ran out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter against Pineville, but a couple of on-side kicks allowed the Lions to get back into the game before the end of the first quarter with two touchdowns. Williamsburg led 36-22 at the half the went on to roll past the Lions, 70-22. Sophomore Corey Shelton, who had two touchdown catches was named the MVP.
The Corbin Redhounds fell behind Tates Creek 14-0 in the first half then rallied behind Matt Jewell and Brian Nantz to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, 14-14. But a key run back on the kickoff and a crucial personal foul led to Tates Creek’s winning touchdown.
Whitley County surprised Rockcastle County with a solid defensive effort in a 28-0 shut out win. Boston Bryant scored two touchdowns to lead the Colonels. Zack Mills, led the Colonels with 94 yards and a touchdown while Austin Hooper had 96 yards.
