Francis Gertrude “Trudy” Conatser Massey
Francis Gertrude “Trudy” Conatser Massey, left for her Heavenly home on April 15, 2022.
Trudy was born August 29, 1932, in Sunbright, Tennessee, on her family’s farm. She attended school in Sunbright where she also played basketball.
She moved to Williamsburg, Kentucky, with her husband and children in 1951 where she resided until 2016.
Trudy worked at The Williamsburg Motel for 40 years retiring in 2007.
She was a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church and an active member of the Williamsburg community. Trudy loved to give to others and often gave five dollars to those on her birthday card list.
Trudy is preceded in death by her husband, Jake E. Massey, Jr.; her father, Louis Conatser; her mother, Gertrude Freels Conatser; her father-in-law, Jake E. Massey, Sr.; her mother-in-law, Barbara Haun Massey; her grandson, Jason Massey; and her siblings, Minnie, Mamie, Gladys, David, Louis, Mary Agnes, Barbara, Daniel, and Joyce.
Trudy is survived by her daughter, Cathy Massey McKeehan, of Lenoir City, Tennessee; her son, Jake E. Massey III and his wife, Sherry, of Corbin, Kentucky. Trudy is also survived by her grandchildren, Amy McGowan and husband Darin, Stephanie Wacht and husband Sam, Jake Massey IV, Jennifer Massey, Matthew McKeehan and wife Sarah, JoAnna Massey, and Andrew Martin; and her 15 great-grandchildren, Bradon, Ashlin, and Adara Rogers, Catherine, Elyn, and Warren McGowan, Jacey and Addison Dickerson, Jayden and Kylie Taft, Charli Martin, Jack, Maddie, Charlie Dillon and Maximus McKeehan.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 19, at 5:00 pm at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Vernon Jones officiating.
Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM until the funeral hour Tuesday, April 19, at the funeral home.
