Four local residents arrested for meth charges during Corbin traffic stop
A traffic stop on Standard Avenue near Corbin Monday afternoon lead to the arrest of four local residents on methamphetamine related charges.
About 2:46 p.m., Kentucky State Police Trooper Chad Gregory conducted a traffic stop on a 1996 Ford F-150 on Standard Avenue in Knox County.
As Gregory approached the vehicle, he noticed two backpacks in the bed of the truck.
Further investigation determined that both backpacks were full of items used to manufacture methamphetamine, KSP Public Affairs Officer Shane Jacobs said in a press release.
Gregory charged the driver of the vehicle, Brian S. Smith, 32, of Corbin with first-offense manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of meth precursors, two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and failure to wear seatbelt.
Gregory also arrested the three passengers in the vehicle.
He charged Casey M. Smith, 33, of Woodbine, Pamela S. Hensley, 31, of Corbin, and Anthony W. Martin, 27, of Corbin, with first-offense manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of meth precursor and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth).
In addition, Gregory charged Smith with a second first-degree possession of a controlled substance charge. The drug was unspecified.
He also charged Martin with tampering with physical evidence.
All four were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
Gregory is continuing the investigation. KSP Trooper Desmond Brittle assisted with the traffic stop.
