Former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to speak at University of the Cumberlands
Since 2006, the Forcht Group of Kentucky Center for Excellence in Leadership has brought some big named speakers to the campus of the University of the Cumberlands, including Mike Huckabee, Karl Rove, Roy Moore, Zell Miller, Stephen Covey, and Ben Stein.
Next year will be no exception.
University of the Cumberlands President Dr. James Taylor II announced on his Facebook page Monday afternoon that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be the keynote speaker for the program, which will be held on April 3.
Giuliani is a lawyer, businessman and politician, who is best known for serving as Mayor of New York City from 1994 – 2001.
He garnered international attention for his leadership during and after the 9-11 attacks that toppled the World Trade Center.
In 2008, he made an unsuccessful bid for the Republican party nomination to become president of the United States.
The annual lecture series is made possible by an endowment from local business owners Dr. Terry and Marion Forcht, who founded the Forcht Group of Kentucky Center for Excellence in Leadership. The purpose of the Center is to provide programs and activities that enhance the development of leadership, character and good citizenship.
