Five arrests made following investigation into theft from job site
Five people were arrested Wednesday morning following an investigation into the theft of items from a job site in Keavy.
Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene on Level Green Road after it was discovered that two air conditioners along with two large rolls of linoleum flooring had been taken.
Detective Chris Edwards and Detective Sgt. Kevin Berry began an investigation and at approximately 10:50 a.m., the arrests were made.
- Charles Mobley, 43, of Corbin was arrested off of Ky. 312 on charges of theft by unlawful taking of the value over $500 but less than $10,000. In addition, deputies served Mobley with a bench warrant out of Laurel County charging him with failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/revoked operator’s license and another traffic offense.
- Steven Hammons, 46, of Corbin and Leona Warfield, 48, of Corbin, were arrested off of Britton Lane off of Ky. 1223 on two counts of receiving stolen property of the value under $500 and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“The subject was in possession of the two air conditioners that had been reported stolen. One was in the bedroom window and the other sitting behind the residence.” said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer adding deputies also recovered a glass pipe.
- Christine Diane Johnson 25, of Corbin and Clinton Jackson, 44, of London, were also arrested at the Britton Lane residence. Each was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
“We got it all back,” Acciardo said of the items stolen from the scene.
