Festival season is here! Here’s what we will have to offer…

Ready or not, festival season is upon us again. This time next week downtown Corbin will be packed with folks ready to seek thrills on carnival rides, indulge in greasy and/or sugary treats, hear some great tunes, and maybe participate in a friendly competition or two.

For the past several weeks we have had info in the paper previewing the 2023 NIBROC Festival, and in the August 9 edition we will have a special insert that will include the entire schedule of events. Before we get to the actual start of the festival, however, I wanted to go ahead and let everyone know what our plans are here at the News Journal.

If you visited our booth at last year’s NIBROC, then you’ll pretty much know what to expect. If you didn’t get to visit, or if you have forgotten, we will be offering:

• FREE copies of our 2023 Community Directory Magazine

• FREE copies of the Summer 2022, Fall 2022, Winter 2023, Spring 2023, and (hopefully) Summer 2023 Strictly Business Magazines

• FREE copies of this year’s local graduates tabloid, which celebrates Class of ‘23 seniors at Corbin, Whitley County, Williamsburg, Lynn Camp and Jellico High Schools

• FREE chances to win a great prize pack worth several hundred dollars (more details on that coming soon…)

In addition to all of that, we will also have copies of our latest edition for sale, and you will have the opportunity to take advantage of a special limited-time rate to begin or renew a subscription to the News Journal.

Weather permitting, someone should be present at the booth from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. next Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Aug. 10-12. We hope to see you there!

FYI… if you can’t make it out to NIBROC next week, you will still have a chance to pick up the materials mentioned above, and take advantage of that subscription special, as we are also planning on being present at the Old Fashioned Trading Days festival in downtown Williamsburg on September 8-9.

We will remind everyone between now and then, but just know that you should be able to find us at both events.
