An action before the Kentucky Board of Claims is blaming the death of a two-year-old Whitley County girl in late 2013 on inaction by local social workers, and one of the attorney’s in the case says it is a disturbing trend that needs to be addressed.
The case involves the death of Williamsburg toddler Madisyn Davis who was found dead in her bed Nov. 20, 2013. The girl’s mother, Trina White, 36, and live-in boyfriend Mark Hyden, 35, were arrested and charged with murder in the wake of an investigation into Davis’ death. Both have pleaded not guilty and are incarcerated awaiting trial in Whitley County Circuit Court.
Police believe Madisyn died of “blunt force trauma” to the head and asphyxiation.
The action before the Board of Claims was filed by Williamsburg attorneys John Reynolds and B.J. Foley on Nov. 19, 2014 on behalf of Davis’ biological father Jason Davis, who is also incarcerated on theft charges.
Reynolds said he agreed to file the claim on Davis’s behalf because he felt like Madisyn’s death was ultimately preventable had workers with Child Protective Services done a proper investigation when another local attorney called in a complaint to the CPS office two months before her death.

We all know social services in whitley county is a joke and waste of tax payer’s money, they only investigate what they want and don’t put the welfare of the children first, they are to busy standing outside smoking instead of doing there job’s, they use there authority to get back at people they don’t like and are Bias to people who don’t like them or complain on how useless they are, I know first hand they don’t take abuse and neglect complaints seriously and would be glad to help MR Davis’s attourney out in any way we can, it is time we start looking into what is going on and get those useless people out of there! And shame oon the judges who continuously take what they say as face value! Makes me sick
