Ester Jarvis Smith
Ester Jarvis Smith, 89, of the Verne Community, Williamsburg, departed this life on Friday, July 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his sister’s family.
He was born on February 17, 1928 in Corbin, to the late Abe and Ada Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nobu Smith; two sisters, Donna Smith and Helen Parks and two brothers and their wives, Joedy and Erika Smith and T.J. and Velma Smith. Jarvis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Patterson Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Parks (Rev. Raymond) of Williamsburg; brother, Howard Smith (Letha) of Reading, OH; brother-in-law, Rev. Gerald Parks of West Chester, OH; nieces and nephews, Jerry Vogt, Joedy Smith, Butch Parks, Kay Alsip, Tina Dupps, Christy Wilson, Donna Finn, Dave Smith and Dennis Parks; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Jarvis was a very special uncle and will certainly be missed.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Parks and Rev. Gerald Parks officiating.
Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Smith Cemetery.
Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
