Engineer Street Bridge vandal arrested by Corbin police

Corbin Police said Brenda T. Webb has admitted she is the woman who threw five flower boxes off the Engineer Street Bridge on Sept. 15.
Webb, 34, whom police have been searching for since she was identified as the woman captured on surveillance video, was arrested Tuesday afternoon as she was leaving The Trillium Center in Corbin.
"She said she went a little crazy," said Corbin Police Capt. Rob Jones who took Webb into custody. "She said she will pay for the damages."
Webb was charged with one count of second-degree criminal mischief, and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center and is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
Jones said the charge is a class "A" misdemeanor carrying a potential penalty of up to one year in jail.
Video dated Sept. 15, shows a woman and two children walking across the bridge and the splashes as the boxes land in the creek.
"They can be seen just picking the boxes up from the railing and tossing them into the creek," said Corbin Mayor McBurney.
City officials were able to retrieve a portion of the video that gave a better view of the woman. After distributing it to several media outlets, McBurney said officials received four calls identifying the woman as Webb.
Acting on that information, on Sept. 21 Corbin Police secured an arrest warrant for Webb and went to her home on Ott Road serve it. There was no one home at that time or when officers returned later that day.
Police came back early on the morning of Sept. 22 and found Webb’s van in the driveway.
Webb’s 12-year-old son told police they she wasn’t home but said she threw the flower boxes off the bridge because she was angry that her oldest son was in jail.
He added that Webb tried to choke the family’s Pit Bull dog the previous night, after which, she went to The Trillium Center.
Trillium Center officials would not confirm to police that Webb was staying at the facility. However, police kept watching for her, and when she walked out Tuesday afternoon, Jones was waiting.
Though all of the boxes that were thrown in the creek were retrieved, McBurney said two of them were broken and two others are likely damaged beyond repair.
McBurney said this is the third time the flower boxes on the bridge have been thrown into the creek. Estimates from area flower shops indicated it will cost about $850 to replace the five boxes.

I would think several days of hard work (cleaning and landscaping) would help tremendously with her anger control. She looks much older than her given age. May be due to the lifestyle she lives. I think there are many who are more than able to work and should be made to work IF they are getting a “first of the month check”. Everybody can do something, even if it is pick up trash. IF everybody had to WORK, no matter how small the job…they would be tired and not have so much time to think about vandalizing, drugs, etc.
Am I the only one wondering why her 12 yr old was with her at the bridge and not in school????????
This is a typical case of inbreeding. There is no cure for it. I feel sorry for the kids. One is already in jail. There’s probably no hope for the others. She should consider getting her tubes tied.

sorry i tried that she would rather have her pills and beer and other junk she takes instead of being friends with anyone she stays drugged up on regular bases and when she gets caught she uses her mental health as her fall back which is a crock and let me remind you she gets a big sum of money monthly for her three kids to buy her stuff monthly! so no i dont feel a bit sorry for her!
Abe Lincoln-I agree with you. My family grew up dirt poor. holes in socks, no shoes and sometimes no food, but we had class and it was instilled in us to work if you ever wanted to have anything in this life. Just because someone has had it hard isn’t an excuse to be disrespectful. But I bet we that have had it hard and had to make the decision to do soemthing about it or fall into the hole she has lived in-usually had the self drive or at least someone in our life that made us want to be better. Some people don’t even have that or maybe they don’t even have the mental capacity to know there are better ways and I think that is where she is. I think if someone tried to befriend her, invite her to church and did not allow her to give excuses for her “postion” then she would be forced to decide to give her kids a better life and even herself some hope. Her kids need to see real Christian love and not all the horrible comments everyone has been posting.
You know, I’ve had a really poor upbringing. Dirt floors, no running water, no indoor bathroom, food was scarce. Had to split wood, plow fields, tend to livestock. Never even got much schooling. But I didn’t let that stuff stop me. I worked hard, educated myself, walked 9 miles to pay a man two cents, and got to be President of the United States.
Having lots of difficulties and a hard life is no excuse for anything. Respect others and their property.
It is quite apparent this woman has had an extremely hard life, but seriously as much attention as she has been given for throwing some flowers that were probably in pots made in China costing $20 each and maybe $50 worth of flowers is pretty pathetic. She needs help. She needs a break in this awful world. I bet all she knows is being very poor, being treated very badly by everyone, being around people her whole life who have lived off the system while selling their drugs and caring about nothing but themselves- seriously how else do we expect her to be? What she did was pretty sad, but really you all what if she had just decided to jump over that bridge herself and been done with this place- what all would you being saying then??
Anger management my fanny. Anger management is a joke, and a Rev. that recommends it is probably a joke too.
And choking pit bull dogs would constitute animal abuse. Hope you don’t pastor a church.
What this lady did isn’t what one would expect of a 34yr. mother. Sometimes we allow things to over take our emotions and act like a fool, most of us know this first hand. What she did was wrong and she should be held responable for her actions. Yes she should pay for all damages, replacment cost, and reimbursement of cost of time spent by Corbin P.D., and a fine of maybe $100.00, and some community service, but to even consider jail time is a joke, and Corbin, Whitly County, and the state of Kentucky should hang their heads. Maybe after she pays her dues, maybe get her a little anger management, so she can be a better mother to her children and citizen. And as far as chocking her pit bull, to bad she didn’t kill it.
Would someone please check on the poor dog? She has no business being the “caretaker” for ANYthing, be it child or dog apparently.
She should have to do community service for her punishment, starting with repairing or re-making the boxes, filling them up and taking them to mount back on the bridge. What a moron.
This lady is obviously a complete moron–and a dangerous one at that! She choked her dog and flew flower pots off a bridge??? It’s no wonder that, given her obvious mental instability, that she has a child in jail. Who is going to take care of her other child(ren)? She is obviously not fit to do herself.
Has her minor children been taken from her? They sure do not need to be around her.
Kill a flower, go to jail.
She’s 34 going on 5.
The punishment should fit the crime, but to whip her with an ugly stick would constitute double jeopardy.
