Teresa Ellison has a passion for helping people. Regardless of where she works, she has always enjoyed making a difference in people’s lives.
Recently she took a major step to getting a bit closer to helping people at the time of their lives when they need help the most. She completed her apprenticeship and passed the Kentucky Board Exam to become a fully licensed Kentucky Funeral Director.
In January of 2014, Teresa and her husband, Crayton Ellison purchased Ellison Funeral Home located on Main Street in Williamsburg.
Realizing that there was a bigger need for her strengths, Teresa decided in December of 2014 to retire from her job of the last 20 years as Assistant City Clerk in Williamsburg to begin her Funeral Director’s Apprenticeship.
“An apprentice serves three years under the supervision of a licensed funeral director. They are learning and participating in every aspect of the funeral business. They are also required to learn the laws pertaining to funeral services,” she said.
Also in an effort to better understand insurance issues, in 2016, Teresa became a licensed Kentucky Life and Health Insurance Agent.
Teresa completed a 720-hour program in 2009 and is a licensed Kentucky Massage Therapist.
“Whether it’s in massage therapy or in many aspects of funeral services, I am grateful for the opportunity to help people and be there for them,” said Teresa.
She continued, “We are making plans to continue to improve Ellison Funeral Home because we are dedicated to serve you, our community, our family.”
