Earl F. Marple
Earl F. Marple, 74, of Sevierville, TN, formerly of Jellico, TN passed away Tuesday morning, November 6, 2018 at the LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville.
He was born on August 7, 1944 to the late Floyd Marple and the late Sarah Amy (Overton) Marple in the Anthras community of Campbell County, TN.
His maternal grandparents were the late Reece Overton and Pernie Overton.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda (Comer) Marple; step-father, Marshall (Boxie) Douglas; one sister, Janice Marple; two brothers, Reese Marple and Carl Marple.
He is survived by two sons, James Marple and Jeffrey Marple, both of Sevierville, TN; three grandchildren, Paige Marple, Jasmine Marple and Cody Marple, all of Sevierville, TN; six great-grandchildren; step-grandson, Tyler Malicoat, of Jellico, TN; four siblings, Kenneth Marple, of La Follette, Charlotte Douglas, of Jellico, TN, Linda Partin, of Kentucky, and Amy Smith, of Jellico, TN; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and other relatives to mourn his passing.
The funeral was held Friday, November 9, at 2 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Slay officiating.
The burial followed at the Douglas Cemetery in the Oswego community of Campbell County, TN.
Military graveside honors were conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard, Arlie Long Post # 154.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of all arrangements.
