Duo Guitano to perform as part of FAA concert series

The Fine Arts Association of Southeastern Kentucky, Inc. presents Duo Guitano, “The Romantics: Duos for Guitar and Piano,” Saturday, March 5, 2016, 7:30 p.m., Conway Boatman Chapel, Union College, Barbourville, Kentucky.

Duo Guitiano is formed by Colombian-American guitarist Carlos Castilla and Cuban-American pianist Amanda Virelles. Both started their artistic careers as soloists, finishing bachelor, master and doctoral degrees from conservatories and universities in Cuba, Colombia, Russia and the United States.Duo Guitiano specializes in the repertoire originally written for this instrumental setting, from 19th century to the present day. In their path, they have rescued forgotten scores from the golden age of the guitar/piano duo, bringing back to life the tradition of this peculiar ensemble.

This husband and wife duo has performed in multiples venues in Latin America, and the United States.
