Delta Natural Gas to no longer offer in-person service as of June 1
In what the company is calling a “modernization” of their bill paying processes, Delta Natural Gas has announced that, as of June 1, in-person service will no longer be offered at any physical locations.
“Delta Natural Gas is making it easier for customers to pay their bills from the comfort of their own home,” said a press release sent out by the company earlier this month. “All Delta customers are now able to set up an e-account and manage everything about their service online, including viewing account balances and e-billing. Delta E-Accounts are free and offer customers the ability to receive their bills via e-mail, review usage and pay online with the touch of a button. Customers can also download the Delta Gas app and pay on the go from your smartphone or tablet.”
Flyers are currently being handed out to customers who go to one of the local Delta Natural Gas offices, informing them that “Delta Natural Gas and our parent company, Peoples, have made paying your gas bill easier than ever!”
The flyer outlines the above-mentioned details regarding e-accounts and app functionality, and encourages customers to visit www.DeltaGas.com to learn more about how to utilize these updated features.
The flyer also informs customers that customer service call center hours have been expanded to 7 am-5 pm EST (Mon.-Fri.), and that payments can also be made any time through processor ACI Speedpay by calling 855-730-8765.
The company is informing all customers that, “To support these service improvements, beginning June 1, 2023, customers will no longer be able to speak with a Customer Service representative in-person at Delta office locations.”
Drop-off boxes will continue to be available for use during the coming transition period, and anyone wishing to make cash payments can do so by visiting the nearest Western Union location, although additional fees may apply.
The Western Union website, www.westernunion.com, lists seven locations in Corbin, one location in Williamsburg, seven locations in London and three locations in Barbourville.
The phone number to reach a live representative with Delta Natural Gas is 888-427-7335. The company’s emergency phone number remains 800-432-0771.
A request for additional comments from a Delta Natural Gas representative has been submitted. This story will be updated to include those comments once they are obtained.
