David Wayne Cox

David Wayne Cox, 58, of New Liberty Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

He was born on March 5, 1959 in Pine Knot, to the late Elmer Lee Cox and Ellen (Martin) Cox. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Cox, Ray Cox, and Nat Cox; and sisters, Rachel Cox and Nora Cox.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Cox of Madisonville, TN; three grandchildren, Nevaeh Cox, Tristin Cox, and Gauge Cox; four step-children, Christopher Hamblin of Louden, TN, Crystal Holvert of McCreary County, Loretta Crabtree of Tennessee, and Thomas Holt of Williamsburg; several step-grandchildren; five sisters, Judy Bryant of Pine Knot, Zora Bryant of Whitley City, Dora Bryant of Pine Knot, Christee Scalf of Corbin, and Louise Perry of Georgia; five brothers, Roy Duke Cox of New Liberty, Andrew Cox of Williamsburg, Lee Cox of Pine Knot, Charles Cox of Williamsburg, and Roger Cox of Pine Knot; and a host of other family members and friends who mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, December 16, at the New Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Brian West officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
