Dave Moody, Hairball ready to rock Corbin 80’s style this weekend
“We’re going to push you up against the wall, grab you by your shirt, smack you around, and you are going to have the greatest time that you’ve ever had in your life!” That is how Dave Moody described the experience in store for music fans attending the Hairball ROCKS concert this Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Corbin Arena.
Moody, who is originally from the Louisville area, has been playing music live for 35 years. He says it has been “quite the journey” that has led him to taking the stage with Hairball, who for the better part of a quarter century has been wowing fans with their ability to emulate some of the greatest acts in rock-n-roll history.
“We have three singers who all do different artists,” Moody explained. “One minute you’re going to see Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons [of KISS], and the next minute you’re going to see David Lee Roth [of Van Halen].”
Other acts that Moody and Hairball cover include AC/DC, Guns-N-Roses, Queen, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and many more. “Everything that we do is one hundred percent live and real,” he assured. “Just like mom’s biscuits and gravy.”
Moody described Hairball’s shows as a “full celebration of everything from the 70s and 80s,” promising costumes, makeup and stage antics that look, sound and feel just like the real thing.
“You’re going to walk into the Arena, but you’ll be floating out of it,” Moody said. “I promise you this… at the end of the night, you’re going to say, ‘Man! Let’s do that again!’”
Moody considers it is a dream come true to be able to perform these all-time classics of rock-n-roll as a member of Hairball. “It has been such a joyful and blessed journey,” he said. “I couldn’t think of doing anything else for a living. I am just so thankful that I get to be a musician, and that I get to entertain and make people happy.”
Moody said that he regularly sees a mix of young and old fans at Hairball shows, which is exciting because it signals to him that the music he and his band mates love so much is also loved by generations of music fans all over the world.
As for returning to the Bluegrass State for this weekend’s show at the Arena, Moody said, “I get to come home to Kentucky! Every rock-n-roll band needs to have at least one hillbilly in it, and I am that guy. I am just thankful to be bringing the band to Corbin, and to show them my beautiful home state.”
Tickets are still available for the Hairball concert this Saturday at the Corbin Arena, so there is still time to make sure that you don’t miss out.
“Don’t be the person who hears about the show on Monday morning,” Moody advised. “This is the show that you definitely want to see, I can promise you that.”
