Darrell Ball

Darrell Ball, 67, of Rockholds, departed this life on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center of Hazard.

Born June 13, 1951, Darrell was the son of the late Eldon and Dorothy (Parrett) Ball.

Darrell was a retired shift supervisor of 31 years for CTA Acoustics and a member of Souls’ Harbor Church.

Besides his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by one brother, Randall Ball and a brother-in-law, Harold York.

Darrell is survived by his wife JoAnn Ball of Rockholds; two children, Darrell Ball, Jr. and Myrna of Keavy, and Vitoria Pope and husband David of Barbourville; brother and two sisters, Rev. Ronnie Ball and wife Patty of Lily, Nina Jones and husband Glenn of Columbus, OH and Sue York of Annville; a sister-in-law Pamela Ball of Eubank; seven grandchildren, Celia Ball, Shane Pope, Tristen (Ball) Green and husband Shawn, Jake Pope, Mollie Pope, Loisann Ball and Mary Pat Dorr; three great-grandchildren: Reese, Brooke and Bailey Croley; several nieces and nephews plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at the Souls’ Harbor Church in London, with Rev. Brad Parrett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, with Shane Pope, Jake Pope, Garrett Croley, Gerald Ball, Billy Ball, Dakota Collett, J.W. Paul and Anthony Wagers serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers include James Carter, Carl Hammons, Tom Hill, Howard Mann, Bruce Moses, Harold Romines, Roger Wagers, Larry Benfield, Sr., Duke House, Basil Holder Doyle Elliott, Sr., and Bluegrass Care Navigators.
