Cumberland Valley Cruise-In set for Saturday in downtown Corbin
Main Street in Corbin will be packed with classic and custom rides Saturday as the Cumberland Valley Cruise-In comes to town.
Chris McQueen, one of the event organizers said the first cruise-in held in May at Cumberland Falls State Park featured more than 300 entries.
Vehicles of all types, including customs and classics, are welcome.
“If you think your car is a hot rod or classic, or if you have a tractor, motorcycle or even lawn mower that you want to show off, bring it,” McQueen said. “We accept all entries.”
Entry is free.
Main Street will be closed to traffic beginning about 3:30 p.m. so that owners may begin to bring in their entries.
The entries will be angle-parked facing toward the middle.
The theme of this cruise-in will be “Mopar Madness.”
McQueen said all makes and models are welcome, but there will be a special area set aside for Chrysler brands.
The event officially kicks off at 4 p.m. with music provided by “Gary’s Sound Machine.”
In addition, vendors will be set up at NIBROC Park.
There will also be games, assorted drawings and door prizes.
Hillview Stables will have its “train” in town providing rides. The train will pick up and drop off passengers at the corner of Main and First Street next to The Depot on Main restaurant.
Individuals are welcome and encouraged to bring any extra parts or accessories that they are looking to sell, or come down and see if they can find a bargain.
“If you are looking for something or have something auto related, bring it,” McQueen said.
Weather is forecast to be a mix of clouds and sunshine with temperatures in the low 80s.
On Friday night, organizers will be hosting a block party in the parking lot behind Sanders Park in Corbin.
“It is just something to get everybody prepared and pumped up for the cruise in,” McQueen said adding the event will kick off about 5 p.m.
