County Wide, Positive Movement Band to play at 2015 NIBROC Festival

Southern and classic rock band County Wide will make a return engagement to NIBROC. They will play at the festival on Aug. 6.
The first two musical acts have been announced for the 2015 NIBROC Festival in Corbin, and organizers of the event say they plan to have expand entertainment this year from three to four days.
Southeastern Kentucky county rock foursome County Wide will be the headline on Thursday, Aug. 6. They will take the main stage at 9:30 p.m.
County Wide has a brand new album called “Country Boy’s Dream” and has released three singles from the album — “One More Round,” “Tastes Like America” and “Keep on Shifting.” All three songs have been receiving play on Reverbnation and are available on ITunes and Google Play.
The band, consisting of Aaron Bunch, Steven Standifer, Anthony Campbell and Travis Clem, is based out of Somerset and have proven popular in the area. They’ve played at NIBROC before.
“They are the perfect band for a festival like NIBROC,” said Bruce Carpenter, Executive Director of the Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the main sponsor of the festival.
“Their brand of good ole’ Americana music is perfect for this time of year and has been popular. I’ve had a lot of people ask me to bring them back and I was happy to do so. I think anyone that sees them play live will have a good time.”

The energetic, soul-infused Positive Movement Band will be the main act on the closing night of NIBROC, Saturday, Aug. 8. They will take the main stage at around 9:30 p.m.
Carpenter said the band has played around the area numerous times and calls them “skilled musicians with a knack for showmanship and for playing to the crowd.”
“They are a lot of fun,” Carpenter said. “It’s a 10-member group so they have a big, full sound that I think really works well in the outdoor festival setting. People should really enjoy them.”
Carpenter said he’s still working on nailing down main acts for Wednesday and Friday night of the festival. Wednesday, he said, will almost certainly be a gospel or contemporary Christian band. NIBROC has in the past, intermittently, included religious music on Wednesday night. The last few years, musical entertainment has only been Thursday through Saturday of the festival.
NIBROC is entering its 64th years. It will be held Aug. 5-8 in downtown Corbin along Depot Street.
