Country rocker J.D. Shelburn to play final night of NIBROC Festival

J.D. Shelburn, an up and coming country rock musician from Taylorsville, has signed on to play at NIBROC 2017.
One of Kentucky’s fastest rising country and rock stars has been signed as the headliner for the final night of next month’s NIBROC Festival in downtown Corbin.
J.D. Shelburne will take the main stage at NIBROC on Saturday, Aug. 12. The show will start about 9:30 p.m.
Shelburne is a Taylorsville native who tours continually and has a solid fan base.
“J.D. is a talented guy who is an excellent performer with a lot of energy. I think people will really like him when they see him. His show will be a great way to close out this year’s NIBROC,” said Bruce Carpenter, Executive Director of the Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber is the main sponsor of the festival and plans the event. This year will mark the 65th anniversary of NIBROC.
During his whirlwind career explosion, he has performed with over 50 national acts ranging from stars such as Montgomery Gentry, Craig Morgan, Jamey Johnson, Kellie Pickler, Steve Wariner to Clay Walker and Johnny Lee, performed at some of the region’s most famous venues such as Rupp Arena, Murphy Center, KFC Yum Center, Freedom Hall, Churchill Downs and Old Cardinal Stadium which drew the Kentucky State Fair’s largest crowd of the 2013 year.
Shelburne recently performed “God Bless America” prior to the 2016 Quaker State 400 NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway to over 100,000 attendees. He has also been featured in Country Weekly Magazine, Kentucky Alumni Magazine, and Kentucky Monthly Magazine amongst many other national publications including the Huffington Post.
His debut music video “Farmboy” gained him thousands of new fans by airing on the TNN Top Ten Countdown nationwide on Heartland TV network and ZUUS Country Network. In 2015, he made his Nationwide debut on GAC – Great American Country Network and also CMT.com in October with his second music video entitled “Hometown” written about the demise of his small town.
On October 21, 2015, Shelburne debuted as the No. 1 trending artist on CMT.com edging out Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean! Shelburne has performed over 1000 concerts all over the southeast as well as over 300 festivals.
Most recently in 2017, Shelburne launched his world premiere official music video for “Better Man” that was filmed in Midway/ Millville, KY. The video also made it’s network television debut on Great American Country (GAC) on June 23, 2017 and is currently in nationwide rotation.
At this year’s Kentucky Derby, Shelburne was invited to cook with Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host Guy Fieri at his restaurant alongside Guy, Travis Tritt and NFL Legend Jerry Rice!
Carpenter said more NIBROC performances will be announced in the weeks leading up to the festival. All events are free and open to the public. There is no seating, so concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or similar seating.
