COUCH WINS

Whitley County junior Jeff Couch came from behind to beat Covington Scott junior Drew Miller in the first-round of the state wrestling tournament Thursday. Couch trailed 5-2 at the end of round one, but a take down awarded him three points and a tie early in the second period. Couch took a 7-5 lead into the final two-minute period.

He got a near fall and the three points to take a 10-6 lead. It proved to be the difference as he held on to advance to the round of 16 by beating Miller, 11-9.
