Cornelius Hamilton

Cornelius Hamilton, 83, of Bee Creek, Corbin, KY, departed this life on March 5, 2021 at Continued Care Hospital in Corbin, KY.  He was born on January 16, 1938 in Sawyer (McCreary County), Kentucky to Joseph Hamilton and Elsie (Morgan) Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Hamilton and Elsie (Morgan) Hamilton; wife, Irene (Sexton) Hamilton; infant son; granddaughter, Alex Hamilton; sister, Minnie Vanover; and brother(s), Walter Hamilton, Paris Hamilton, Herman Hamilton, Oscar Hamilton and William Hamilton.

He is survived by five son(s), Steven Wayne Hamilton (Vicky) of Brooksville, Indiana, Christopher Cornelius Hamilton (Kathy) of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, Patrick Jay Hamilton of Corbin, Kentucky, Randall Joe Hamilton (Rhonda) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Dennis Ray Hamilton of Corbin, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Gertie Vanover (Harold) of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

He retired from CSX Transportation and formally worked at the-then L & N Railroad.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour on Sunday, March 14, at the Croley Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 14, at the Croley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerome Cox officiating. Interment will be private.
