Cordula Melina Claxton
Cordula Melina Claxton, 46, of Cherry Lane, Williamsburg departed this life on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home.
She was born on January 21, 1972 in Celle, Germany to the late Lewis E. Gaston and Krimhilde (Hoffman) Gaston.
She was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Anna Bryer.
She was an employee of the Whitley County Board of Education for 13 years.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar Claxton Jr. of Williamsburg; three children, Benjamin Bickert of Germany, Dania Esser and Maurice Claxton of Williamsburg; six stepchildren, Bryan Claxton (Katja) of Clinton, Utah, Leeann Brown (Tony) of Louisville, Eddie Claxton (Ashley) of Hopkinsville, Sharon Strange (Bobby) of Corbin, Tammy Claxton (Preston Rains) of Williamsburg and Daniela Waldroup (Marvin) of Detroit, MI; 13 grandchildren, Katelyn Claxton, Justin Fraser, CJ Fraser, Kayden Claxton, Kali Claxton, Jordan Strange, Madison Strange, Hayleigh Strange, Destiny Claxton, Ali Claxton, Brayden Rains, Saundra Maurer and Aaron Maurer; one great granddaughter, Layla Platt; three brothers, Thomas Roes of Germany, Kevin Gaston of Texas and Mario Roes of Germany; three sisters, Kori Gaston of Lexington, Kerry Gaston of Mexico and Kristy Clondron of Virginia; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Gail Claxton and Brenda and Larry Strickland; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral service was held Sunday, December 16, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Hodge officiating.
Following the service she was laid to rest in the Claxton Family Cemetery on Zerk Bowlin Road, Williamsburg.
