Corbin woman caught trying to shoplift hair color, Cocoa Pebbles from Corbin Walmart
A Corbin woman is facing a shoplifting charge after Corbin Walmart loss prevention reportedly stopped her from stealing hair color, Doritos, Cocoa Pebbles cereal and other items totaling more than $102 Wednesday afternoon.
Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 24-year-old Jessica Marie Denton, who had been detained by the store’s loss prevention team.
According to the investigation conducted by Deputy Kyle Gray, Denton had alleged been seen concealing the merchandise, which also included: Red Bull energy drink, gloves, ham, a sippy cup and fleece hats before travelling through the self checkout and attempting to leave the store without paying.
Denton was charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking of the value under $500 – shoplifting and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Denton is being held on a $1,000 cash bond.
