Corbin woman arrested for rape, sodomy
A Corbin teenage girl is being accused of raping and sodomizing two 12-year-old neighbors on numerous occasions from early February through July 23.
Parents of the alleged victims obtained arrest warrants for Ashley Elaine Hubbard, 19, of Corbin, for five counts of second-degree sodomy and three counts of second-degree rape – a pattern of disturbing sexual activity they say began Feb. 12 and continued up until as recently as Saturday.
Corbin Police Capt. Tim Helton said he arrested Hubbard Monday after being presented with the accusations on Sunday.
“It’s a pretty big accusation that’s been made by the victims,” Helton said.
Both the boys – one who is now 13 – have been candid with police about their alleged sexual relations with Hubbard. The victims are not related to each other or Hubbard, Helton said.
“One of the children finally told one of their parents about it,” Helton said about the origins of the investigation. He said he’s briefly interviewed Hubbard and that she denies the charges.
“There’s still more that could possibly be learned,” Helton said. “She’s not saying that she did it.”
Helton said the victims report both oral sex and sexual intercourse with Hubbard. On occasion, both were present at the same time. Hubbard either dates or used to date one of the victim’s brothers, he said.
Women rarely face rape and sodomy charges, and Helton called the case an “unusual” one.
