Corbin Tourism’s Movies in the Park will kick off May 18
Area residents are invited to bring their blankets and/or lawn chairs and enjoy a movie at Sanders Park on May 18.
The popular event begun by Corbin Tourism in 2018 is returning for its first of two nights.
Tourism Director Maggy Kriebel said the movie will be “The Secret Life of Pets.”
The 2016 computer-animated comedy features the voices of Kevin Hart and Dana Carvey, among others.
It tells the story of a Jack Russell Terrier named Max who lives with his human Katie in Manhattan.
While Katie is at work, Max hangs out with the other pets in the building, including: Pomeranian Gidget, tabby cat Chloe, pug Mel, dachshund Buddy, and parrot Sweet Pea.
When Katie adopts a large Newfoundland mix from the pound, Max becomes jealous.
Duke attempts to abandon Max in an alley, but they both become lost and begin their adventure to return home.
“It was very successful,” Kriebel said of the 2018 events, noting it drew approximately 200 people to the park in May.
The movie will begin at dusk.
The Forcht Bank Ice Cream Machine will be there, and Mick Jones from State Farm will be on hand, giving out water.
Guests are invited to bring their own drinks and snacks, though it is family-friendly so alcohol is prohibited.
The second movie is scheduled for October 5, when “Hocus Pocus” will be shown.
“We are doing a little Halloween thing that night,” Kriebel said.
