Corbin Schools to announce selection of new superintendent Monday
After a lengthy selection process, the Corbin Independent Schools Board of Education is set to hire a new superintendent Monday evening — the first new head of the school system in 23 years.
The board is set to meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. at The Corbin Center. Selection of a new superintedent is one of the first items on the agenda. The meetings are open to the public.
Current Superintedent, Ed McNeel, announced earlier in the year he was retiring at the end of December. He was hired in 1992 and has led the school system during an era of unprecedented growth, academic achievement and infrastructure improvement.
Other items on the agenda include approval of construction bids for the new Corbin Middle School, approval of revised documents regarding the construction and authorization for the Corbin Independent School District Finance Corporation to issue revenue bonds to fund the project.
