Corbin rolls out new garbage carts
Corbin residents and businesses will start seeing brand new 95-gallon, gray garbage carts appearing at their residences.

The carts were ordered by the city in early this year after the Corbin City Commission voted on July 1 to budget $209,000 to purchase the 3,500 new carts.
The distribution of carts will take place daily in different areas. The process is expected to take at least a month, but it could possibly take longer.
Each resident will receive one can per household, according to a Facebook post by the City of Corbin.
The city asks that residents transition to using the provided can only by the end of January 2022.
If residents need to use another can until the end of January, the city asks that residents only put out one additional 32 gallon can.
For residents who would like Corbin Public Works to remove old garbage cans, please mark the can by spray painting an X on the lid or leave a note asking the can be removed.
The city will only be issuing one garbage cart per household or business at this time.
The Public Works Department will continue assisting those who are unable to sit out their garbage.
Residents that do not generate enough garbage to fill the 95-gallon cart are encouraged to call the Corbin Public Works Department at (606) 523-6530 to make arrangements for picking up the garbage.
