Corbin Restaurant Week kicks off Jan. 18th
Get your stretchy pants ready because Restaurant Week is coming to Corbin from Jan. 18 to 23.
“This six-day long dining event is a great opportunity to experience why Corbin is one of the top food destinations in the state,” said Maggy Kriebel, director of The Corbin Tourism and the Convention Commission. “During this event, participating restaurants will offer their own sig-nature item (entrée, dessert, drink, appetizer, etc.) at a price point that they feel comfortable with.”
Twelve restaurants are participating in the event that allows them to showcase one creation of their choice.
“The Corbin Tourism Commission is super stoked about Restaurant Week because it allows our locally owned and operated restaurants an opportunity to show off their creativity and culinary talents,” said Kriebel. “Corbin has become a ‘Foodie’ destination, and by showcasing their tal-ents, our restaurants are showing folks just how important they are to the Corbin culture.”
Restaurant Week is replacing the typical Finger Lickin Chicken Week hosted in January.
“In light of the devastation experienced by our restaurants in 2020, we felt that it was im-portant to do a different initiative,” said Kriebel. “This will also enable the tourism office to launch a campaign as to why our restaurants are so important… because they offer such a unique sampling of culinary treats, and there is no one else like them anywhere!”
Kriebel said that most locations will serve meals both in person and to go because of the re-duced capacity seating restrictions implemented to help stop the spread of COVID-19, but it will ultimately be up to each establishment to decide how they will offer their meal.
Establishments participating in Restaurant Week include:
• Shep’s Place – The Albuquerque Burger with Fries ($10.99)
o Located: 306 S. Main Street
o Hours: Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
o Dish Details: An always fresh ½ pound burger topped with pepper jack cheese, Shep’s famous southwest ranch, and house made pico queso & tortilla strips.
• Depot on Main – 14-ounce boneless Pittsburgh style ribeye with two sides ($24.99)
o Located 101 N. Main Street
o Hours: Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Seasons – Grilled fajita chicken mac & cheese topped with tomato chutney ($13.99)
o Located: 313 S. Main Street
o Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
o Dish Details: Creamy cheese sauce smothered over penne pasta on a bed of fa-jita chicken topped with a savory tomato chutney.

o Dish Details: The Hog & Hen – Farm Deviled egg, crispy bacon and parmesan tuille; Filipino KFC – Adobo fried chicken, hoy sorghum drizzle, cheesy crisp hoe-cake, chow chow relish; Jambalaya Mac – Country ham, rock shrimp, creole trini-ty, smoked gouda cheese, rotini pasta, and scallions.
• Austin City Saloon – the Bukin Belly Buster Burrito ($14.99)

o Dish Details: House made chicken salad dry rubbed with Caribbean jersey sea-soning served warm on flour tortillas topped with an island coleslaw and fin-ished with soy aioli.
• Heavenly Pizza – 10” Pickle Bacon Ranch Pizza ($8)

o Dish Details: Made with a blend of olive oil and seasonings (our Angel Dust) for the base, mozzarella cheese, dill pickles, bacon, parmesan cheese, a touch of heat, then Baked. Once out of the oven it’s topped with a blend of seasonings for added flavor and lastly drizzled with cream ranch over the top.
