Corbin resident says Shannon T. Hall best choice for mayor
To the Editor:
I would like to say I would appreciate the way the newspaper presents the candidate’s and their views.
I am writing to endorse Shannon T. Hall, a friend from my childhood. Shannon and bhis family have a servant’s heart, which reveals their actions. Hall is a hard worker and thinks of his fellow humans and the future of their city and children. He treats all people equal as well as the area they are from … a man of faith, who wants them to be save and be protected.
Shannon is a first responder with Oak Grove Fire Dept. I want to see the city keep a full-time fire department as well to see it keeps garbage pick-up to employ locals.
I know Shannon T. Hall, as mayor, would work hard to see economic growth, and he would like to see the youth of Corbin stay here with jobs that they can support their families. I like his idea to get retired, skilled people from churches to monitor the youth in both work skills and life skills. The churches played a great part in developing Corbin, even our school sytstem. Our schools have a high rating and many of our teachers have received acknowledgement as teachers of the year, even this year our voc tech teacher for training of firefighters, police and EMS. Lesha Powell was acknowledged as vo-tech teacher of 2018.
Shannon wants to start neighborhood watches through Corbin and to have a policeman on foot during special ocassions in the city. Remember, Shannon T. Hall says we have a tourist director who has been presenting places of interest in areas of interest, local and around us. We need to start take care of our sidewalks and streets, beside Main and Kentucky, which are in good shape.
I think like he does that we should build a park in south Corbin for our youth; that area is growing business wise and those people deserve it. They pay taxes.
Shannon T. Hall loves our Senior Citizens Center and providing a meeting place where they can have their program. He believes our youth needs help in fight of drugs and again church programs have been a help to fight the demons. I believe like he does about town meetings, they are needed.
He say that we need more pepole to be involved in making Corbin great again and meet the needs of our community.
I am behind Shannon T. Hall movement for Mayor. I know it can’t happen but each day can changes be made and Corbin change. Go to Commissioners meeting on 3rd Monday of month. Remember our officials are accountable to community and be countes as one who wants Corbin to be city for its citizens. Vote Nov. 6 for Shannon T. Hall as mayor.
