Corbin Public Library presenting Ghost Tours Oct. 21-22
October has been a busy month for the Corbin Public Library, and several exciting events are still to come.
The Ghost Tour will be making its return this year on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22. Library Director John Baker said the two-day event will be a good opportunity for families to hear interesting stories about Corbin’s past, and maybe even learn some spooky historical facts. The tour will be led by costumed guides, with the route beginning at the library and progressing down Depot Street. Tours will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each night, and will last 20-30 minutes.
In addition to the Ghost Tour itself, Baker said that several other family-friendly activities will be taking place at the library, including face painting, a costume contest and fortune telling. On Saturday, there will be a Halloween-themed trivia contest, and a movie will be shown.
There will be no cost required to take part in the Ghost Tour, or any of the other festivities.
Other special events throughout the remainder of October that will also be free to attend include:
- Spooky Story Time. On Friday, Oct. 14, kids of all ages can enjoy a special interactive shadow puppet presentation. On Friday, Oct. 28, a hand-painted craft project will be featured. Start time will be 3:30 p.m. each day.
- Movie showing on Tuesday, Oct. 15, featuring Goosebumps. Children and families are invited to attend at 11 a.m. Watch the movie, and check out one of many Goosebumps books available at the library.
- Tim Burton day on Tuesday, Oct. 18, featuring A Nightmare Before Christmas. Snacks will be provided, and visitors will have the opportunity to complete a special craft project.
- Harry Potter Family Cooking Class, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m. Class will take place in the library’s community room, and space will be limited. Contact the library at (606) 528-6366 for information on how to register.
- Back by popular demand, bingo is returning to the schedule on Friday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. in the community room. Prizes will be awarded to winners, and no registration is required.
