Corbin Police Department reports busy August
The Corbin Police Department answered 1,247 calls during the month of August.
Officers issued 204 total citations for traffic or criminal offenses, and made 147 total arrests. Out of those arrests, there were 38 criminal arrests, six were DUI cases, and 102 warrants served, according to a Corbin Police Department release.
Corbin Police opened 52 criminal cases during August for things such as theft, assaults, etc.
Officers responded to 47 collisions in August.
So far in 2022, Corbin police have answered a total of 9,227 calls, issued 1,399 total citations, and made 818 total arrests. Out of those arrests, 258 were criminal arrests and 535 were warrants served, according to a News Journal analysis.
Corbin police have opened a total of 303 cases thus far in 2022, and had responded to 397 total collisions through Aug. 31, 2022.
“The City of Corbin’s Police Department works tirelessly to ensure our community is provided a quality law enforcement service. We utilize all available resources to minimize the risk of the citizens we serve becoming a victim of criminal activity,” the Corbin Police Department wrote in a release.
