Corbin police capture Indiana prison escapees
Two Indiana prison escapees were caught in Corbin Monday, just eight days after they broke free and went on the run.
Robert S. Pickett, 39, and Jeffrey D. Boggs, 39, both of North Vernon, Ind., were captured at about 11:40 p.m. Monday. According to a Corbin Police Department news release, the two men were identified by officer James Miller during a traffic stop on Miller Street. Police say the 1991 GMC Jimmy, with Indiana tags, had been reported stolen.
Through investigation, Miller discovered both men were wanted for escaping from the Jennings County Detention Center where they were awaiting trial on charges that they manufactured methamphetamine. Boggs and Pickett are two of four men who escaped from the jail April 23.
Miller was assisted in the investigation and arrest by officers Chad Gregory, Jason Williams and Bill Rose.
