Corbin Ossoli Club presents the 68th Annual May Day Festival
It’s that exciting time of the year again, Spring is here which means that the GFWC-KFWC Ossoli Club of Corbin is ready for their annual May Day Festival. Save the date of the first Friday in May, May 6 at 7:30 p.m.
This year marks the 68th annual May Day Festival but we are not getting older, we are getting better and bigger. This year’s festivities will be held at the Arena, a venue which will allow everyone a great seat (with a back!) and allow for the young student performers to actually get to see all the performances.
Once again, members of the business community of Corbin have stepped forward to serve as sponsor for the Queen candidates. Each sponsoring business will have voting boxes available where you may vote for your favorite candidate with your monetary contribution. No contribution is too small and no contribution is too large.
All proceeds from this 68th annual May Day will be used to fund the community service projects of the GFWC-KFWC Ossoli Club of Corbin including donations to each school/preschool classroom that participate as performers. Other community service projects of the Ossoli Club include donations to the Corbin Public Library, sponsorship of the Corbin United Effort Home Education program, sponsorship of the Corbin High School Academic Breakfast, purchase of Piano Lab for CIS and CMS, donations to St. Camillus Academy projects, and numerous other worthwhile causes throughout the year.
The Tiny Queen is provided with a U.S. Savings Bond and the May Queen with an educational award to the college of her choice.
With the enlarged venue we have space for more contestants as well as a more comfortable space for our audience. We are pleased and proud to announce the following fifteen young ladies vying for the crown of May Queen and the nine younger ladies vying for the crown of Tiny May Queen.
