Corbin man wanted in Knox, Whitley counties found hiding under bed
Acting on a tip, Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Corbin man who was wanted in Knox and Whitley Counties on burglary and drug-related charges.
According to Sheriff Colan Harrell, Deputies John Hill and Cody Harrell went to the residence on Sutton Mill Road in Woodbine in search of 30-year-old Dewayne Malone.
Malone was wanted in Knox County on charges of second-degree burglary, violation of an emergency protection order/domestic violence order and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Malone was wanted in Whitley County on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – cocaine, trafficking in marijuana – less than 8 ounces and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Sheriff Harrell said the deputies found Malone hiding under a bed and took him into custody without incident.
In addition to the indictment warrants, deputies learned that Malone had an active warrant for third-degree escape.
Malone was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center where he remains on a $50,000 cash bond.
