Corbin man found guilty of rape by Knox County jury

(Correction: In the Aug. 10 print edition of the News Journal and in an initial version of this story, which appeared on the News Journal’s website the morning of Aug. 10, a story regarding Payton Chase Garrison’s rape trial incorrectly stated that Garrison was 19 years old at the time the alleged offenses were committed. The story should have stated that Garrison was 17 years old at the time that two of the alleged offenses occurred, and he was either 16 or had just turned 17 years old when the first offense allegedly occurred. Following a full day of testimony and deliberations, a Corbin man facing three sexual-related charges involving minors was found guilty on multiple counts Monday night in Knox County Circuit Court.
