Corbin man dies following motorcycle accident at I-75 Exit 29 early Saturday morning

A Corbin man is dead following a gruesome late-night motorcycle crash at I-75 Exit 29 Saturday.
According to Kentucky State Police Division of Vehicle Enforcement, 29-year-old Justin L. Jones was exiting north bound on Exit 29 in Corbin when he lost control of the 2008 Honda 600 he was riding and struck a guard rail. He was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the guardrail. His injuries were extensive and traumatic.
Officials said the motorcycle caught fire after the accident.
Jones was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. He was still alive and responsive at the scene, but died a short time later at the hospital.
Police believe speed and alcohol use to be the contributing factors to the crash. The accident happened at around midnight Saturday morning.
Jones was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
No autopsy is planned, but a toxicology exam is pending.
Vehicle Enforcement Officer Greg Reams investigated the crash. He was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department, Constable Denver Mays, West Knox Fire and Rescue, and Laurel County EMS.
Reams is continuing and investigation into the case.
