Corbin man charged with trafficking methamphetamine

Two Corbin residents and one Lily resident were among nine people charged Thursday with trafficking assorted drugs including methamphetamine and heroin.

Laurel County Sheriff John Roots, along with his detectives and deputies worked in conjunction with Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith and members of the Knox County Sheriff’s Department made the arrests while conducting, “Operation Cupid.”

The individuals arrested included:

• Dylan Bunch, 28, of Corbin, who is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
• Brian Shively, 38, of Corbin, whose charges were not specified.
• Marty Taylor, Jr., 37, of Lily, whose charges were not specified.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said the arrests were the result of a series of investigations across Laurel County as part of Sheriff John Root’s, “War on Drugs.”
