Corbin man accused of dragging wife with vehicle during altercation
A Corbin man has been arrested and is accused of a violent altercation with his wife where he allegedly dragged her with the familie’s vehicle Tuesday.
According to Corbin Police, Jeffery L. Storms, 29, was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment following the incident Tuesday morning.
Storms and his wife, Amanda Foreman, had apparently been fighting while driving around in the vehicle. They pulled into Pine Hill Cemetery. Foreman told police her husband attempted to push her out of the car, but her three children grabbed her and tried to pull her back inside. While they were trying to get her back in the vehicle, Storms accelerated and dragged Foreman for some distance causing road rash on the lower part of her body.
Storms fled the scene, with the children, and police immediately issued a BOLO alert (Be On The Lookout) to surrounding police agencies. He was later stopped by Kentucky State Police at the 62 mile marker on I-75 and taken to KSP Post 11 in London for questioning. The children were returned to their mother.
Corbin Police Sgt. Robbie Hodge arrested Storms and lodged him in the Knox County Detention Center. He remains in jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
Hodge is continuing and investigation into the case.
