Corbin husband and wife injured in domestic dispute each facing charges
A north Corbin husband and wife are each facing a felony assault charge stemming from a domestic dispute involving a knife Sunday morning.
According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Deputy Shawn Boroviak arrested 43-year-old Timothy Huff and 40-year-old Mary Huff, charging each with one count of second-degree assault – domestic violence.
Boroviak was called to the couple’s residence on Tom Town Hollow Road off of U.S. 25W about 7:40 a.m. where he reportedly found both individuals suffering from cuts.
“We don’t know what they had been arguing about, but at some point the female produced a knife and a physical altercation ensued,” said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, describing the knife as a folding knife.
Acciardo said Timothy Huff reportedly was cut on the finger and stabbed in the left leg while Mary Huff had the tip of one finger cut off and suffered a cut on another finger.
Both were taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Corbin for treatment of their injuries. Upon their release later that day, they were taken into custody and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
