Corbin High School’s ‘Reelin’ Redhounds’ back on Lake Hartwell for second day of fishing at High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship

Corbin High School’s “Reelin’ Redhounds” are back on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina this morning for the second day of bass fishing in the 2021 High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship.
In the world finals, Corbin’s team of Leighton Cornett and Dylan Prewitt lead the Redhounds entries, standing tied at 128th among the 398 entries.
Cornett and Prewitt turned in three fish with a total weight of 5 pounds, 4 ounces.
The team of Austin Ooten and Tanner Davis are tied for 227th place with a three-fish total of 3 pounds, 13 ounces.
Corbin’s John Brady White and Tyler Wine are tied for 253rd place with a three fish total of 3 pounds, 7 ounces.
Corbin’s teams of Elijah Fortney and Zayne Hammack, and Cory Coots and Slater Storms were among the 38 teams that were shut out on day one.
The leading team turned in three fish totaling 10 pounds, 13 ounces.
The top two teams from Kentucky turned in three fish with weights of 9 pounds, 1 ounce, and 8 pounds, 8 ounces, respectively
At the moment, each of the Redhound teams are competing with those teams and other teams from Kentucky to be one of the top two teams from Kentucky.
The top two teams from Kentucky will advance to Friday’s High School Fishing World Finals.
The weights will be zeroed and the 100 competing teams will be battling to be advance to the finals on Saturday.
The fish caught by Ooten and Davis are also scored in the high school national championship tournament.
Their 3 pounds, 13 ounces turned in on Wednesday, tied them for 155th place among the 226 entries in that tournament.
Following today’s weigh-in, the top 10 teams will continue on to Friday’s national championship final, which will be determined by the three-day combined weight.
